Would you like to trigger Alexa Routines via IFTTT, a web browser, or a RESTful API? If you find these questions more intriguing than confusing, read on!

Virtual Buttons combines an Alexa Smart Home skill with a REST API, allowing you to trigger Alex Routines based on just about anything -- an incoming email or tweet, a weather alert, a server error, or even an actual button connected to something like a Raspberry Pi or Arduino. It's really up to your imagination.

Warning: This is a truly nerdy tool. If you've never heard of IFTTT or an API, or are uncomfortable creating Alexa Routines, Virtual Buttons is likely not for you. Otherwise, please continue...

Getting Started
Before you can start pushing virtual buttons, you must complete the following steps:

1. Create a Patreon account at www.patreon.com
2. Enable this Virtual Buttons smart home skill
3. Agree to link the skill to your Patreon account
