With the Arlo Skill and Alexa, you can access your Arlo security cameras, video doorbells, and floodlight cameras using voice commands.
Using the Arlo Skill, you can ask Alexa to view the live feed from one of your cameras, video doorbell, or floodlight camera via your Echo Show, Echo Spot, Fire TV or Fire tablets. Hear and speak to people in front of your Arlo Video Doorbell.
Alexa can also notify you when someone presses your Arlo doorbell or motion is detected by an Arlo camera or floodlight. Turn on “Announcements” for your Arlo camera, Arlo Doorbell or floodlight from the Smart Home section of the Alexa App or create an Alexa Routine from the main menu in the app.
To take full advantage of these features, you need an Alexa-enabled Arlo camera, Arlo Doorbell or floodlight camera with your Echo Show, Echo Spot, Fire TV (any generation), Fire TV stick (2nd generation), Fire TV Edition smart TVs, or Fire Tablets (generation 7th & above).
To get started, please make sure that your Arlo product is set up and turned on.
Ask Amazon Alexa to enable the Arlo skill – “Alexa, enable Arlo skill” to get instructions in your Alexa app to link your Arlo account with your Alexa account
OR
In the Alexa app, search for the Arlo Skill. Select the 'Enable Skill' button to link your Arlo account with your Alexa account.
Now, you can start using the Arlo skill.
Now try out some commands, using the name of the Arlo camera or light that you created when you set up your device. For example:
“Alexa, talk to front door.”
“Alexa, answer the front door.”
“Alexa, show the front door camera.“
“Alexa, hide the front door camera.”
“Alexa, go home.”
“Alexa, stop.”
“Alexa, turn on front yard light”
“Alexa, set backyard light to green”
You can now view the last motion video captured by your security camera. Just say “Show the last motion detected by my front door camera.”
Note: Please make sure you are part of a Smart trial or have an active Smart plan to view past video clips if you have an Ultra, Pro 3, Pro 4, Video doorbell or Floodlight camera
